Table of Contents

Simple Cloth Napkins

Super beginner friendly! Cloth napkins are a classic, practical gift that you can personalize with fabric choices and embellishments.
My tutorial including a video run-through is here: Easy Cloth Napkins
All you need is a pretty print and a plain fabric—just double hem the edges and you’re done!
For extra flair, add a touch of English paper piecing or applique leaves. You can easily make a set of four or six in under an hour.
Reusable “Un-paper” Towels

These eco-friendly unpaper towels are made with cotton on one side and repurposed towel on the other.
My tutorial with video demonstration is here: Reusable Unpaper Towels Tutorial
They’re super practical, pretty, and can be sized down to sew makeup removers or dish scrubbers too.
Topstitch the edges for a neat finish or if you have a serger you can make these even quicker!
Mini Quilts for Wall Art

Mini quilts are a fun way to create personalized art in a hurry.
I have a video all about Mini Quilt Inspiration Ideas here.
This post has lots of patterns for Wall Hanging Quilts.
And this video has so many options for How to Hang Your Mini Quilts.
Simple applique or strip piecing in pretty fabrics can make a great mini quilt. My favourite mini I made this year was some crumb piecing and denim quilted onto batting, then glued on a canvas frame – I didn’t even bind it.
Of course some mini quilts can take time, but if you like improv and get yourself out of your head and just start making these can be great for a quick, creative gift.
Super Simple Sea Glass Cushion Covers

Make a cushion cover with left over pretty scrap fabrics.
My Sea Glass Cushion Tutorial with video demonstration is here.
This easy sea glass method uses fused scraps sewn roughly around the edges—no need for perfection!
Add an envelope back for easy assembly. These are perfect for posting, since you can send just the cover and let the recipient add their own insert.
Personalize with favourite colours for a thoughtful touch.
Fast Fabric Coasters

Fabric coasters are great! You can wash them, wipe up spills with them and use up all your little fabric scraps.

This Quilt As You Go Coaster Tutorial is a favourite of mine but in the video version of this last minute gifts post I also give you a tip to make these coasters even faster using just charm pack squares!

Quick Fabric Necklaces

Using a jelly roll strip and some sewing trimmings, you can make a lightweight, colourful fabric necklace in no time.
My Fabric Necklace Tutorial & Video from when I first made these shows a small and large version of these necklaces with a jewellery finding clasp option or a simple no hardware/no raw edges tied version.
These are great for kids and adults alike, and you can personalize them with favourite colours or fun prints.
The photos above are my most recent makes of these necklaces – one for my niece and one for me!
