Modern Improv Scrap Quilt – for special scraps and background stash

This is a playful no-measure way of making a modern scrap quilt. It uses smaller stand out scraps and leftover background fabric from your stash that you just need to make a dent in!

I have made two versions of this quilt. One with a very scrappy light background and one using yardage for the background that I just needed to clear from my stash.

The second time around I did the whole thing as a Quilt Along series on my YouTube channel where you can follow me in detail as I pick fabrics and make choices about layout.

LOW VOLUME CRUMB QUILT – Great for all your Tiny Crumbs!

This quilt was not a quick one. It took me over a year (working on it from time to time)!

I pieced together all the tiny leftovers of white, cream, and pale beige background fabrics – some had some patterns on them but they were all basically white or off-white – so “low volume” (it’s a fancy quilting term).

I used the techniques in my One Color Crumb Block Tutorial to make this quilt except I made larger ‘chunks’ that I joined together rather than trimming to a particular block size (see the video for a better explanation of that!).
